Tourism Minister Kim Hames has announced hotel owner and proprietor of Sandalford Wines, Peter Prendiville, will be Tourism WA’s new chairman of the board.
Mr Prendiville will take on the role of chairman when Kate Lamont’s term expires on June 30.
Mr Prendiville has more than 35 years’ experience in tourism, hospitality and events.
The deputy chairman role will be filled by Howard Cearns, who founded Little Creatures Brewing Pty Ltd and has been a member of the TWA board for six years.
Three new board members have also been appointed including
- Nathan Harding - group managing director of Discover Australia Holidays, Discover West Holidays and Skywest Holidays
- Diane Smith-Gander - director of Wesfarmers Ltd, Transfield Services Ltd, CBH Group Ltd and the deputy chairman of the National Broadband Network Company Ltd
- Richard Vaughan - divisional senior vice president, Commercial Operations Worldwide, Emirates
Perth Racing CEO Stephen Wicks has been reappointed to the board for a further year
