The Victorian Government has sought Commonwealth funding for a number of key transport infrastructure projects in its recent Priority Infrastructure Submission to Infrastructure Australia.

Six major priority projects highlighted in the submission include:

  • Melbourne Metro
  • East West Link
  • M80 Ring Road Upgrade to improve the 38km Western and Metropolitan Ring Roads
  • Dandenong Rail Capacity Program
  • Port of Hastings; and
  • Western Interstate Freight Terminal

The Property Council has argued strongly for increased investment in Victoria’s infrastructure base and maintains that this will be crucial to ensuring Victoria’s success and vitality. A recent research report entitled Securing Victoria’s Future – A Program to Plan, Fund and Deliver Infrastructure identified the need for a solid pipeline of infrastructure projects.
