What will Melbourne look like in the next 30-40 years? As the Victorian Government prepares a new metropolitan planning strategy, the first stage of its public consultation is underway. It seeks community input on the issues central to Melbourne and Victoria’s future.
The Plan Melbourne website provides a set of fact sheets designed to stimulate ideas and discussion around a range of trends and challenges surrounding Melbourne’s liveability and prosperity, encompassing:
- Housing choice;
- Transport accessibility;
- Economic growth;
- Environmental protection; and
- Infrastructure and services to support growth and change.
The Victorian Government is inviting community input via its online forums, which will be used to guide the preparation of a discussion paper. The discussion paper will seek further comments and submissions from the community and relevant stakeholders prior to the release of a draft strategy.
