The Property Council's Tasmanian division has reignited the local government reform debate.

Not since 1997, has there been such a serious call for reform - and yet the current structure of 29 councils and 281 councillors for a population of 506,000 is failing to meet the needs of the Tasmanian community.

Here's how the Property Council is leading the fight for reform:

+ Deloitte Access Economics report - the Property Council commissioned Deloitte to analyse the efficiency gains to be had by a restructure of local government. MORE

+ Polling - the Property Council has released polling by Enterprise Marketing and Research. The results overwhelmingly support the need for reform. MORE

+ Tasmanians for Reform - the Property Council has created the largest coalition of peak bodies in Tasmania's history to support the cause. MORE

Be active. Go to the Tasmanians for Reform website and participate in the social media and sticker campaigns.
