Property Council of Australia

As most members are aware the Property Council has been advocating for two part pricing and the use of water meters to negate the cross subsidization issues faced by our members as well as ensuring that the pricing of water is on a more equitable footing than has been the case.

Indeed it is our longstanding and steadfast position that water and sewerage services are utilities and should be priced and managed accordingly.

As part of the reform package, the Government has released a consultant’s report on the rollout of water meters to transition to two part pricing of water in Tasmania.

The Tasmanian Division will be providing comment on the report by Marchment Hill Consulting as metering and two part pricing is crucial to the reform process and our comment will be available on the Tasmanian Division website shortly.
