Citta Property Group has been announced as the preferred tender for parliament square.

The winning design is by the architectural firm Francis Jones Morehen Thorp (fjmt).

The Citta Property Group has offered the Tasmanian Government $7.5 million for the parliament square site in addition to providing external and internal restoration of the heritage buildings (approximately $7.5 million), public space and amenity (approximately $4.5 million) and a new 5 star rated Green office building (approximately $45.5 million).

Overall demolition works will cost close to $8 million. The site offer is consistent with the reserve value set by the Director-General of Lands.

The Government has executed a Heads of Agreement with Citta to guide final negotiations of the transaction documentation.
