The Residential Development Council (RDC) welcomes the announcement of the new membership of the Social Housing Advisory Committee.

Caryn Kakas, Executive Director, Residential Development Council said the appointment of this committee provides a much needed focus on outcomes for the provision of affordable housing for Australians in need.

“The National Housing Affordability Agreement (NAHA) provides the opportunity to target funding to tackle nation’s chronic under supply of affordable housing. It is important that we ensure the next agreement provide the right framework, funding and targeted outcomes to deliver marked improvements in affordable housing choices.”

Appointed to the panel are RDC Chairman Nigel Satterley, Property Council of Australia Immediate Past President, Daniel Grollo and Property Council member, David Cant. Another welcome addition to the panel is Carol Croce, Executive Director of the Community Housing Federation of Australia (CHFA) who will bring valuable experience in the delivery of public housing.

“The announcement of this panel is an important first step to ensuring an overall uplift in the number of social housing dwellings which are being built across the nation,” said Ms Kakas.
