The contemporary yet rustic design for Adelaide landscape architecture firm, Oxigen has picked up two accolades in the 2012 Australian Interior Design Awards.
Celebrating the finest in interior design, Woods Bagot and Oxigen were awarded Best of State (SA) Commercial Interior Design for Oxigen's workplace and a Commendation in the national Workplace Design category.
"Collaborating with a fellow architecture firm to stengthen their voice through design was a fantastic opportunity. We explored and utilised fresh ideas, and created a truly innovative result," said Principal Gavin Kain.
The key concept behind the project was to create a workplace that eminates an honest and raw flair nestling seamlessly into the surrounding neighbourhood. A fluid exchange of ideas between architect, interior designer and builder were key to the realisation of the space that boasts individually crafted and considered spaces which are fresh and unique and speak to Oxigen's professional values and ethics.
"The space epitomises our character and our willingness to explore new ideas as a creative business. In breaking with traditional 'commercial office' design processes, the result delivers a hand-crafted feel that instantly connects with both user and visitor as a place to create, not just a place to work," said James Hayter, Director, Oxigen.
