The property industry bears more than its fair share of Australia's taxation contributions, despite inter-governmental agreements to remove nuisance taxes.

This discourages investment and undermines the sector's productivity.

Tax reform is urgently needed.

Governments should wean themselves off property taxes and focus on fiscal responsibility and careful expenditure.
