South Australia is better placed than ever to take advantage of the coming booms in mining and defence following $7.9 in million planning funding announced in today’s State Budget.
Property Council of Australia (SA Division) Executive Director Nathan Paine says the muchneeded reforms were instigated at the Division’s urging and set South Australia on a course to prosperity.
“We needed a responsive, efficient and transparent planning and development system, one which meets the needs of a modern economy,” Mr Paine said.
“Treasurer Kevin Foley has begun delivering that today, and future generations of South Australians will reap the benefits from the bold initiatives set to follow these announcements.”
Mr Paine praised the funding set aside for the implementation of the soon to be released planning review.
“This funding demonstrates that the Government recognises that good planning drives economic development rather than follows it.”
“We believe the Review will recommend some urgently needed reforms that will enable South Australians now and into the future to enjoy the benefits of the golden age we’re about to see,” Mr Paine said.
