The Property Council has finalised our submission on the Queensland Reconstruction Authority’s Planning for stronger, more resilient floodplains- Part 2.
This toolkit follows on from Part 1 released last year, which contained interim measures for councils to implement prior to the last wet season.
Part 2 provides a fit-for-purpose method for identifying and managing the risk from known floodplains.
The Property Council is supportive of the work of the QRA, and would like to see a risk assessment approach to development assessment incorporated in the model code.
