The strong attendance by property types at the Property Council’s inaugural Ipswich luncheon held last Friday was a clear indication that Ipswich is one very special area and will play a lead role in South-East Queensland’s continuing growth.
More than 250 people turned out from both Ipswich and Brisbane to hear guest speakers Hon Rachel Nolan - Minister for Transport and Member for Ipswich, Mayor Paul Pisasale, City of Ipswich, Andrew Borger of Leighton Properties, Peter Hyland of Urbis and Michael Rayner of Cox Rayner Architects discuss the exciting Ipswich City Centre revitalisation.
The industry and community leaders spoke about the future for the Ipswich City Centre as an entertainment, retail and residential precinct and how the additions planned would both stimulate and revitalise activity in this area.
Mayor Pisasale discussed the latest developments and possible options for Ipswich City Square noting that since Council, through Ipswich City Properties Pty Ltd took ownership, a large amount of work had already been carried out in preparation for the complete redevelopment.
The private sector will be invited to express interest in this exciting project later this year.
The Property Council of Australia would like to thank Leighton Properties for their support by sponsoring the Ipswich Luncheon.
