The Council strongly supports measures being undertaken by the Rudd Government to address housing affordability.
The NRAS in combination with the government announced initiatives which seek to improve the supply of affordable housing, have the ability to significantly improve affordable home ownership and affordable rental accommodation.
The Council has provided a summary of its views which reflect the discussions we have had with our members.
In addition to the views outlined in our submission, the Council is supportive of the principle views outlined in submissions that have been lodged by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) and the Community Housing Federation of Australia (CHFA).
