The ACT Government has released its draft report on the Review of the Change of Use Charge System in the ACT, which has been undertaken by Treasury in recent months.
In January the Property Council lodged a detailed submission to the ACT Government strongly advocating against the approach proposed in Treasury’s initial discussion paper, which we believe, if implemented, would have serious and negative implications for all property owners in the Territory.
There is now a six week consultation period on the new CUC report, with submissions due to government on 23 April.
The Property Council will be taking part in a series of planned industry briefings and roundtable discussions ahead of formulating our own submission to government.
All Property Council members are strongly urged to look at the new Review paper, and to provide feedback to Catherine Carter.

We will continue to keep members informed of developments on this issue.
