I am writing to express the Property Council's support for the Liquor Amendment (Small Bars) Bill tabled in Parliament recently by Clover Moore MP.
The Property Council has decided to take a stand on this issue because we believe our probative licensing fees and ridiculous drink-or-dine rules are an impediment to achieving more vibrancy in our city centres.
Small bars are simply priced out of the market and it is absurd that a restaurant is forced to pay thousands of dollars for a drink-or-dine authority.
