The Property Council has prepared a submission to the Victorian Competition and Efficiency’s (VCEC) Inquiry into Managing Transport Congestion.
The submission discusses congestion issues and their impact on business, causes and effects of congestion, and approaches to alleviating congestion.
The Property Council is strongly opposed to the use of taxes and levies to target congestion.
The Property Council believes that the level of congestion in Victoria is such that urgent, drastic and visionary programs need to be implemented. Using debt to finance projects that will be used by the community for years to come is a sensible approach to solving the current congestion crisis.
