enLighten Australia, a LED lighting design solutions company, has won the 2012 Australian Clean Technologies competition.
enLighten Australia designs and supplies LED lighting for commercial, industrial and residential strata applications.
A runner up in the competition was VR Tek, a company that reclaims used tyre rubber, turning it into rubber powder to be used in the manufacture of rubber, plastics and elastomers.
Another was Biofiba, a company that creates a composite using 100 percent renewable organic matter that can be used as a timber, plastic, cardboard or polystyrene alternative in the manufacture of shipping pallets.
Six Australian competition finalists will be mentored by organisers, including the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education, to assist in taking their business to the global market.
enLighten Australia will represent Australia in the international Cleantech Open Global Ideas competition in November in the U.S. The global winner we be awarded $100,000 in services contracts.
