A Queensland Health and Lend Lease-led Exemplar Health consortium will deliver a $2 billion tertiary hospital on the Sunshine Coast in a public-private partnership.
Exemplar Health and Queensland Health will finance, design, construct and maintain the hospital at Kawana on the Sunshine Coast.
Exemplar Health is made up of Lend Lease, its infrastructure development business Capella Capital and services company Spotless Group.
The hospital will comprise more than 700 beds, 40 operating theatres and an academic research centre.
Construction is expected to commence late 2012, with stage one expected for completion late 2016.
