Perth and Sydney have both recorded an average hotel occupancy rate of 85.5 percent over the year to March 2012, together the highest performing hotel sectors nationally, according to Knight Frank.
Knight Frank’s July 2012 Hotel Market Update report says room rates in Sydney are more than those in Perth, at $190.23 as at March, 2012.
Annual RrevPAR (revenue per available room) in Sydney increased 5 percent over the year to March, to $162.74.
In Perth, RrevPAR increased by 31.2 percent over the past two years, to $161.46.
The average room rate recorded in Perth for the March 2012 quarter was $188.92.
