Government establishes new property taskforce

The Minister for Finance and Service, Greg Pearce MP, has announced the formation of a new property taskforce.

The Property Asset Utilisation Taskforce (PAUT) is tasked with developing policies and strategies to reform property asset management functions across Government in an attempt to simulate the economy in a way consistent with the State Plan, NSW 2021.

This includes a comprehensive stocktake of all Government property assets and a strategy on how to use them, including plans for asset acquisition, management and disposal.

The Taskforce is be independently chaired by Geoff Levy AO, current Chair of the Cromwell Group and Deputy Chair of Investec Bank and Chair of the Investec Australian Equity Fund.

A second independent Member on the Taskforce is Ms Louise Byrne, a senior barrister specialising in property, and former President of NSW Women Lawyers and Vice-President of Australian Women Lawyers.

Further representation on the PAUT includes the Directors General of the Department of Finance & Services, Premier and Cabinet, Treasury, Trade & Investment, Planning and Infrastructure, Transport, the State Property Authority, and the CEO of Infrastructure NSW.
